About this space

This 1999 Bluebird “Skoolie” has been transformed into a charming and cozy glamping destination for couples looking to get away. The Bluebird of Happiness offers a one-of-a-kind lodging experience that combines comfort with the nostalgia of being a kid. Sip coffee on the side deck, take in a kayaking adventure, bask in the sun on the swim dock, or hike Hot Springs National park. You will sleep like a baby in the cold A/C. Make the Bluebird of Happiness your launching pad for your next adventure!

The space

Cape Catherine is a private peninsula with 3 houses, a School bus, 3 different docks, and plenty of outdoor fun.

Guest access

Cape Catherine is a private peninsula on Lake Catherine. The peninsula is home to 3 houses; The Big House, The Garage-Mahal and The Cottage, plus the school bus. You will be sharing the peninsula with guests in the other three houses. However, you will be the only one to have access to The school bus. The bluebird of Happiness is not shared with anyone.

You must be 25 years of age or older to rent this house.

The lake, docks, paddle boards, and kayaks are for your use. Use them and swim at your own risk. We are not responsible for any injuries that may occur while using these items.

This bus is on Lake Catherine. Entergy drains Lake Catherine every year for shoreline maintenance and general Lake Health. That means that FROM MID-NOVEMBER TO MID-MARCH THERE IS NO WATER UNDER THE DOCKS OR AROUND THE PENINSULA.

Additional rules:The primary renter must be at least 25 years of age. You must have positive reviews from past hosts to stay in this unit. The person renting the unit must be the person staying in the unit. A guest list with names and ages and number of vehicles must be provided. Quiet hours from 10 pm to 8 am Guests use the kayaks and paddleboards at their own risk. Owner is not responsible for any injuries that may occur while using the these items. A minimum charge of $200 per animal will be paid by the guest, if an animal is brought into the unit without prior permission from the host.

Notice: There will be a $300 hold placed on your credit card in case of damages.

Important: Before you arrive you will be asked to complete guest verification through third-party provider Truvi. This is done to ensure we are keeping up-to-date with short-term rental regulations as well as providing both our guests and our properties with extra protection. Truvi will contact you via email and/or text to complete the verification. Please do so prior to arriving at the property to enable a quick and easy check-in process.

You will also be given the choice between a security deposit or a non-refundable damage waiver.
